VOLUNTEER TRAINING & OUTINGS
Volunteers at Wings Over Alma were recently treated to a tour of Lock & Dam #4 ... it was a great day and many thanks to Jody for all of the info!
We've purposely remained a smaller company, as it's better to have fewer jobs and do them well than to have a ton of work and be average. This philosophy is a big reason builders and home owners come to us.

The Nature & Art Center could not exist without the support of our volunteers. These generous supporters donate many hours a year serving the mission of the Center. Every day volunteers are hosting our guests or assisting with the special events sponsored by the Center. Much of what we do at the Center revolves around education. Help develop curriculum for our events, assist us in preparing educational materials and displays. You may choose to volunteer occasionally when your schedule allows or schedule a placement as often as once a week.
Our Nature & Art Center is open daily and we need your help! Meet interesting people from around the world and support a great cause. Volunteers assist customers, unpack and stock merchandise and work the cash register. We provide technical and product training. Morning and afternoon volunteer shifts are available. We are interviewing people who would enjoy working a 3-hour shift during the week or on weekends, either every week or every other week.
Can you teach others the importance of environmental awareness? Are you interested in learning more about the Upper Mississippi River Valley? Nature volunteers may work in display gardens, host tour groups or work outdoor events.

If you can't commit to an ongoing placement at the Center but want to give your time when we need it most, consider volunteering at one of our events. See the events calendar for dates and call (608) 685-3303 to volunteer.

Help us get the message about the work of the Nature & Art Center out to our communities. As our society becomes more aware of the environment, they want to learn more about about they can do and the watershed represented by the Upper Mississippi River Valley and the wildlife and birdlife are part of the solution. Young artists need our support and encouragement, speaking to a school art class would be just the thing. We experience this desire for knowledge everyday here at the Center where we will teach you what we know in training sessions, so that you can help us get the word out.
The Center offers unpaid internships for students wishing to gain experience and/or academic credit. If you are interested in an internship opportunity for the school year please send an email to the Center and tell us a little about yourself and why the Wings Over Alma Nature & Art Center is of interest to you.
